On May 14-22, 2008, Friedrich Glasl a well-known conflict management specialist, co-founder of Trigon Institute, led six lectures and six training workshops in Civil Society Institute.
The lectures were devoted to the perception of conflict, the nine stages of conflict escalation, methods of treating and overcoming conflicts. Very often “frozen” conflicts are more dangerous and they take much time for settlement than the ”hot” ones.

During training workshops, participants used colors trying to express their feelings and perceptions. In conflict situations much attention is paid to the gestures and the voice temper of the speaker in this way trying to find negative stimuluses and hided treats. But very often voice temper and gestures may not coincide. During the last training the participants had to present a range of picture slides through which they could express the escalation of conflict and the process of peace establishment.
The lectures and training workshops were organized in the frame of the Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation Resource Center program
