On October 21 upon the invitation of the Civil Society Institute, Karen Bekaryan, Head of "European Integration" NGO, analyst on political issues, conducted a lecture for young students. The topic of the lecture was "Philippines - Mindanao; Conflict for the Right to Self-Determination". 
Mr. Bekaryan has been in Philippines recently and had an opportunity not only to study the situation there, but also to have meetings with public officers and community leaders. The significant events from the history of Philippines, current situation, as well as lifestyle features were presented to the young people during the lecture. Talking about the Philippines-Mindanao conflict the speaker presented the primary causes, the stages of the escalation and the current negotiations.
