Journalists’ Role in Conflict Resolution Process

Journalists’ Role in Conflict Resolution Process

On the 19th of December the Armenian UN Association (AUNA) together with the Civil Society Institute NGO organized a seminar titled “Journalists’ Role in Conflict Resolution Process”.

During the seminar Amalya Grigoryan presented and discussed with the young participants of the seminar about the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) international norm, which was adopted by the United Nations in the 2005 World Summit.

The R2P is aimed at prevention of genocides, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanities.

The young people discussed the current situation in the Middle East and Africa and the mass violations of the human rights. They were interested in the role of the R2P, international community and the super states in such kind of situations.

The seminar was organized in the framework of the “Responsibility to Protect (R2P): Mobilizing Public and Political Will” project.

The programme is implemented by the Armenian UN Association (AUNA) in partnership with the World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA).
