Police representatives discussed issues regarding public control over places of custody

November 9, 2006, Sevan - Upper level officials from the Police of Armenia, who were from the central and regional structures, discussed issues regarding public control over places of custody.

Also present at the event included Ian Smith, Chief Executive of the Independent Custody Visiting Association; Mary Murphy, head of the South Caucasus office of Penal Reform International and members from the Group of Civil Society Monitors of the Custody Places under the Police of Armenia.

This was the first ever open discussion between the Group of Civil Society Monitors and Police representatives regarding issues of public control over custody places.
