NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION
Academy of Justice instead of Schools for Judges and Prosecutors

The
government at its session on 13 September decided to establish the “Academy of
Justice” – a state non-for profit organization, with the aim of training
specialists for judicial and prosecutorial systems.
The
Academy of Justice will start functioning in January 2014 and will replace two
schools which were performing the same function: the School for Judiciary and
School for the Prosecutor’s office. These two schools will be dissolved by the
end of this year.
The
Academy of Justice, according to the Armenian Law on the Academy of Justice, will
deliver training for judges and prosecutors, as well as public servants in the
prosecutorial system, and court bailiffs. There will be also a special course
for judges, prosecutors and law enforcement officer presenting the rules for using
special means and arms.
The
Academy will be managed by the Academy Management Board comprising of seven-members, whereas day-to-day management will be carried out
by the Academy Rector.
