According to RA Ministry of Justice, 400 prisoners were released from penitentiaries and the sentence of 7 convicts has been reduced as of June 5. This information was spread by Public Relations Office of Penitentiary Department.

The number of prisoners released from penitentiaries are as follows: 91 from Erebuni prison, 77 from Kosh prison, 45 from Sevan prison, 43 from Nubarashen prison, 42 from Artik prison, 30 from Vardashen prison, 24 from prisoners' hospital, 19 from Hrazdan prison, 14 from Vanadzor prison, 11 from Goris prison and 1 from Abovyan prison. There are no prisoners released from Yerevan's Kentron prison. The sentence of 3 prisoners from hospital, 3 from Abovyan prison and 1 from Vardashen prison was reduced.

As a reminder, the suggestion of the president of Armenia to grant amnesty in connection with 20^th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia was accepted by the National Assembly. On May 26 the Assembly adopted the decision on amnesty. The release of the prisoners under the amnesty as well as reducing the sentence of other prisoners is still in process.
